Listening Books are a national charity that provides an audiobook library service to children and adults who struggle to read or hold a book due to an illness, disability, mental health issue or learning difficulty.  They have recently received funding to offer a number of FREE memberships to people living in Berkshire who would like to join our service but would find our membership fees a barrier to joining (usually £20 to £45 per year).  They have 1000s of wonderful audiobooks including educational titles which support the National Curriculum from Key Stage 2 and are unavailable in audio elsewhere, as well as popular authors such as JK Rowling and Roald Dahl, available to download and stream through our website or app, or on MP3 CD sent through the post (no postage costs or late fees).  Our friendly library team can provide assistance, especially for those who do not have a computer.  Audiobooks can be a lifeline for children who struggle to read in the usual way, offering all the comfort, relaxation and enjoyment of reading, as well as vital support with school work.  Please visit our website for more information or email info@listening-books.org.uk or call Jo Cord on 020 7407 9417.
